my [ industry ] background
I’m a mid-level software engineer with a thing for privacy, a soft spot for authentication, and a solid track record of both breaking and fixing things in staging. I didn’t take the classic route into tech - I started experimenting with HTML and C++ in middle school, made my way through a couple of bootcamps, and eventually finished my CS degree.
I used to write login flows at a big bank. Now I’m building privacy systems at Etsy - and I get to work on tech that protects people instead of just collecting data about them.
I care about building systems that are secure, ethical, and make space for complexity.
my [ personal ] background
I moved to the U.S. when I was 16, which felt like rebooting life on expert difficulty with no manual. I’m queer, I’m neurodivergent (recently diagnosed), and I’m still learning what it means to exist in a way that doesn’t involve constant masking.
This blog is one way I’m working through that. It’s part reflection space, part info-dump zone, and occasionally a soft place to land when the rest of the internet feels like too much.
Intersectionality isn’t just a concept I believe in - it’s how I see the world, and it’s how I build.
why did I create [ blog42 ] ?
Tech is moving fast - and not always in directions I feel good about.
AI is scaling, trust is shrinking, and people with brains like mine are still being left out of the design process. Blog42 is my small counter-move - part coping mechanism, part digital notebook for thinking out loud about ethics, systems, and the kinds of tools I wish existed.
I don’t have everything figured out, but I do believe in building slowly, honestly, and with people like us in mind.
If any of this resonates - you’re not alone. And you’re welcome here.
